Light Based
This work was created for Nexus Recovery Center in Dallas, TX.
Serving solely women on their journey to recovery, Nexus Family Recovery Center serves as a community of hope and recovery for all women and their families who strive to live healthy, resilient lives.
Quiet reflections and shifting color comprise this work titled Rising Hope. I created this work with rising vertical panels of dichroic glass that catch the sunlight and scatter it into soft, refracted colors that hover in space. As the light moves through the day, its hues transform—symbolizing a woman’s journey through change, renewal, and self-discovery. The interplay of light and transparency evokes moments of clarity and hope that emerge from struggle. In this recovery setting, the refracted colors become a quiet metaphor for healing—reminding each woman that beauty and strength can arise from transformation.
