I have long been an advocate for the amplification of women’s voices, both through my own practice and also through my work with Vignette Women’s Art Fair. I am both heartbroken and incensed that we are still fighting these battles in the 21st century. The global assault on the autonomy of our lives, decisions and bodies must end. It will take all of us; women, men, organizations, corporations, and governments to win these freedoms for women.

This work was created in response to the senseless killing of Mahsa Amini in Iran for not wearing her hijab. It was first presented in the Women Life Freedom exhibit in Dallas, TX, February of 2023. Curated by Nillo Jalivand and Mari Hildago-King.
