The Velocity of Light - A Kaleidoscopic Journey
Video mapped animation, two 6k projectors, server, custom software
10' x 8' x 8'
2018

What makes a visual object beautiful? What causes human to gaze at certain objects longer? The Velocity of Light – A Kaleidoscopic Journey is a video mapping installation created by Menza Art Studio as part of the AURORA Light, Video & Sound Biennial and in partnership with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

Drawn to the beauty and mystery of objects and the study of light Menza Art Studio transformed the existing hexagonal architectural surface through kaleidoscopic animations inspired by the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals collection at the Perot Museum.
The talented Joel Olivas was my collaborator in this installation.
